Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom on Norwich's Radar

Chuba Akpom
Young Arsenal forward Chuba Akpom is looking increasingly likely to join Championship side Norwich City on loan for remainder of the season. He has met with the Canaries officials to discuss the move but they are facing competition from Nottingham Forest for his signing. The move can be completed in the next couple of days before Thursday deadline.

The Hale End academy product signed a long term contract last month which was set to expire in the June and fended off interest from Liverpool who tried to lure him to Anfield.

Akpom previously had loan spells during last season at League 1 sides Brentford and Coventry City. He has made 7 substitute appearances this season and last featured for gunners in FA Cup match against Middlesbrough. Since then he has found game time wanting. He has been impressive and has shown promise to fascinate the gooners with his ability. Though he hasn't opened his goal scoring account, but he came close to do so against Aston Villa in February when he was at the end of countless big chances.

Meanwhile, Norwich are looking for promotion to Premier League after getting relegated last season. They are currently 4th in the table with 70 points after 39 games and are just 3 points behind leaders Bournemouth. There are 7 more games to be played in the league besides the play-offs, so he is likely to get first team football action at the new club.

If you are Norwich Fan reading this, then you should be happy with what you are getting. He is a big talent and most likely to succeed in near future. Its a win-win deal for all the parties involved.
