| Giroud and Rosicky celebrating the 2nd goal |
Wenger started Gabriel and Chamberlain in place of Mertesacker and Welbeck. Ospina and Giroud retained their place in the team and put up a great showing with their telling contributions in the win.
Few things caught the attention and made us ponder our thoughts over. Here are the takeaways from the win.
Promise of the Pairing
Wenger's decision to pair Koscielny with Gabriel proved, at the end, a good one as they helped Ospina to shut out the threat of Everton and keeping a clean sheet. Both the centre-halves complemented each other very well despite looking very similar to each other. Though the Paulista was the reason for the nervy moment when Lukaku won the ball and ran clear before the Colombian intervened and cleared the danger with a sliding tackle outside the box, Gabriel improved and had an assured game after that. His most notable contribution was the tackle on the Belgian forward inside the box when he once again ran clear on the goal. It can be concluded from their showing that Wenger has another option to bank on if Mertesacker comes up with his dismal best again.

Worry of Walcott
Walcott is having hard times in the lower place of pecking order at the Emirates with likes of Sanchez, Welbeck and Chamberlain ahead of him at the moment. His stocks have fallen so low that he didn't even managed to start under the adapted rotation policy despite looking absolutely fit in his previous outing. It worsened further when Ox on right wing was substituted by Tomas Rosicky. The main concern for him is not the form which has seen him scoring 3 goals in 4 starts but the dynamism of his play which only consists of run behind the defence. He needs to contribute more with his passing, defending and needs to get more on the ball like his competitors for the place.

Coquelin's Nose
Le Coq put up a brave performance and ended the game prematurely with a broken nose! He took two blows both while trying to win the aerial ball. Firstly he collided with Giroud and later instead of heading, he nosed it. Because of that, he is an uncertainty for an uncertain period. I hope he's back for the FA cup clash. For the QPR game, Flamini and Ramsey are likely to be in the squad.

Besides, the performance from Davis Ospina, Mesut Özil, Olivier Giroud and cameo of Tomas Rosicky were fantastic with their obvious contributions. Overall, the team also stuck together and left the demons of the Monaco defeat behind with a confident display.
MOTM: Ooooooooooooospina
