Arsenal Transfer News: Villarreal confirms Sale of Paulista

   Arsenal have secured the signing of the Brazilian Centre Back Gabriel Paulista with fee rumoured to be around £13.8 million though an official announcement is yet to be made from the part of the Londoners. The 24 year old defender is being reported to have a medical on Monday after finishing the contractual details for the deal. But the ongoing work permit issue is yet to be sorted. It will be made more clear in this coming week.
   The deal will see young Costa Rican Forward Joel Campbell go the other way to Villarreal on loan till end of the season. The loan deal is not reported to have any clause of  making the move permanent on expiry of the term. His transfer to Spain will not have any effect on the gunners recruitment as they have enough fire power in the team to see them achieve their targets between now and May. Moreover, he has been here on fringes and has only played bit-part role this season. It is good for the forward to move as he may get more game time at his new club which has been found wanting here.
   With the Capture of the defender, and offloading a few fringe players, we finally seem to have a team which we should have had from the first day of the season. Anyways, all is not lost and we still have Barclays Premier League, UEFA Champions League and FA Cup to play for, though the chances of winning former two are bleak!
