Arsenal Pre - Aston Villa Presser

Arsene Wenger faced Media this morning ahead of the Premier League clash with Aston Villa. Here is what he said:

On Team News
I am unlikely to risk Alexis (hamstring). Gabriel is ready to play. Welbeck is unlikely to be fit for Sunday but should be available for the Derby. Chamberlain could be out longer. He may be a bit short for the Tottenham game.

On Jack Wilshere
Jack is doing very well. He is a week ahead of schedule and should return in 10 days

On new signing Gabriel Paulista
I saw great quality. His level of concentration, he's quick, has great commitment and he's young. (On his chances of playing on Sunday) He doesn't speak a word of English. You need to understand your team mates. We are in a job where competition exists. The best player of the moment plays.

On Szczesny
Of course he works very hard. He has responded very well. He is 100 per cent committed in training and works harder than ever. At the moment, the competition is there. I decide who plays the next game.

On contracts and Campbell
Coquelin is 99% there (it means likely to sign, cheers!). (on Arteta) There is nothing to announce. (on Campbell) He needs to play. FYI- He made his Villarreal debut in a 1-0 Copa del Rey win playing 62 minutes.

On Transfers
If I wake up and something exceptional stands in front of my door, I will open the door. Its unlikely now.

That's all you need to know.
