Arsenal vs Monaco Player Ratings

Arsene Wenger
It was not enough but anyways was a great showing by the Gunners. They fell short by just 1 goal for what would have been a miracle that in Monaco. Arsenal scored 2 goals in either half with Giroud and Ramsey on target and came close to scoring THE THIRD GOAL which was saved by Subasic from close range.

Every man on field wearing Arsenal colors gave his all though it wasn't enough. Here are the payer ratings.

David Ospina: 7.5/10. Was not called into action much but was up to the mark whenever needed.

Hector Bellerin: 7/10. Consider his debut vs Dortmund and this game, the lad has come a long way. Good in both attack and defense. Sent in dangerous balls from flanks.\

Per Mertesacker: 8/10. Was steady throughout. No mistakes this time. Completed almost every pass and made unusual forward strides

Laurent Koscielny: 8/10. Typically Koscielny performance. Bossed the defence. Also completed almost every pass. But was unlucky with offside crossbar hit

Nacho Monreal: 7.5/10. Solid defensively. Kept on going forward but was not spotted often. Leads Gibbs in the battle.

Francis Coquelin: 7/10. Did best what he does best. Lucky not be booked in 44th minute for foul on Moutinho. Was only subbed for attacking power of Ramsey.

Santi Cazorla: 9/10. MOTM. Always kept on trying and moved the ball forward. Attempted and completed more than 100 forward passes.

Danny Welbeck: 7.5/10. Wenger's Gamble which almost pulled off the miracle. But was unfortunate to be denied of goal by the defender.

Mesut Özil: 8/10. Excellent. Worked hard and gave it all. If people are still criticizing him, then they don't know what's football.

Goal no 15 for Olivier Giroud this season (all comps)
Alexis Sanchez: 6/10. His least impressive game for Arsenal but still terrific with work-rate. Has Faded and clearly needs rest. Wrongly booked for diving.

Olivier Giroud: 8/10. Continued his great form. Scored the Goal. Kept on getting the chances but simultaneously battled the defenders. Proved that the first leg was an off-day.

Aaron Ramsey: 7.5/10. Got the goal which brought back in the game. Was heavily involved since he came on.

Theo Walcott: 6/10. Didn't had significant impact besides hitting the woodwork which Rambo netted in.

Keiran Gibbs: 6.5/10. Came on to provide fresh legs.

Final Words: Away Goal rule sucks. Referee was blind in first half. Ideal game against a defensive set-up. Will need to repeat this when Chelsea visits Emirates in Late April.

***
(Got late on this one) Arsenal will play Reading in FA Cup semis. The Royals ousted Bradford 3-0. Match schedule to be confirmed which will be played in 18/19 April at the Wembley.
