North London Derby build-up

Arsenal fans were having a pleasant time courtesy of their team's recent run of form and a successful transfer window until the announcement came that Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of the North London Derby which also kept him out of the Aston Villa game. Though it should not dampen the mood greatly and neither have any big impact on the performance considering Gunners' recent majestic showings, the Spurs fans might be jumping with joy and dreaming of a win knowing that they will not be facing The Beast. And if they do really think that it'll be easy to beat an Alexis-less Arsenal, then lets keep them dreaming until it turns into a nightmare.
Because our players are in no mood to show any mercy towards them. All of them are focused on notching a victory. Coquelin was talking of it. He said, “When you play for Arsenal against Tottenham, it’s not about just playing your game, it’s about winning. You have to win it.” (Ah well, I think he just immortalized himself with this quote.) He added, "For the fans and the team it’s a big game and it’s one we want to win."
Mertesacker was also talking of the importance of the game. He said, “It’s a special atmosphere in both grounds, a special atmosphere from the supporters’ side, so we have to realise that.” “It comes very quickly into your mind that it’s a special game for everyone at this club, so you better get on with it quickly otherwise it will hurt you." Recalling last season's memories he said, "We did - we won all our games - so let’s focus on not giving them any chance." Talking of this particular fixture at WHL, he went on and added "We did very well last season, as we scored very early and then defended well until the end, so it’s going to be the target for this year. We have good confidence at the moment so let’s show that again.”
Its clear that the BFG and Coq are in upbeat mood ahead of the Derby. Let's hope they reflect it in their game and give the trashing to the Spurs of which they are used to by now!
